What’s the role:
We are seeking a Merchant Services Underwriter Assistant to support our underwriting team in reviewing and processing merchant applications. This role involves assisting with application verification, gathering necessary documentation, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and fluent in both English and Mandarin to communicate effectively with merchants and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities:
● Assist in reviewing and processing merchant applications, ensuring all required documents are submitted and accurate.
● Conduct preliminary business verification, including background checks and online research.
● Verify business legitimacy and compliance with company underwriting policies.
● Communicate with merchants to gather additional information or clarify documentation as needed.
● Ensure compliance with industry regulations (e.g., PCI DSS, KYC, AML) and company policies.
● Maintain accurate records of underwriting decisions and supporting documents.
● Provide administrative support to underwriters, including data entry, document management, and report preparation.
● Collaborate with internal teams to streamline the onboarding process.
Qualifications & Requirements:
● Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
● 1-2 years of experience in underwriting, merchant services, or payment processing preferred.
● Fluent in English and Mandarin (spoken and written).
● Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information.
● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
● Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and experience with underwriting platforms or CRM systems.
● Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Preferred Qualifications:
● Familiarity with KYC and merchant onboarding processes.
● Experience working with acquiring banks, ISOs, or payment facilitators.
● Knowledge of underwriting policies for different merchant categories. What We Offer:
